Implants
and Dentures |
| |
As children we loose our
baby teeth and excitedly await the arrival
of our new "grown up" teeth.
Unfortunately, when we loose our "grown
up" teeth it's a very different story.
Now we can change this sad scenario with
Dental Implants. Implants give you an amazing
opportunity to have yet a second set of "grown
up" teeth. Dr. Landau, is certified
in Implantology and Surgical and Prosthetic
Treatment, and does all implants right
here at our Forest Hills office, from start
to finish. |

Metal
Post is placed in implant replacing a missing
tooth. The post is placed in the implant
three months after the actual implant is
placed so the implant can heal under the
gum and bend to bone during the three month
period. |
|
A
conventional Crown is made over the implant
post that blends well with the adjacent natural
teeth |

this
model uses clear plastic in the area of the
implants to show how the white implants are
white because they are coated with artificial
bone called hydroxyapatite. The metal colored
implant posts would be placed three months
after the white implants are placed. |
|
A
5 tooth fixed bridge would be made that would
be cemented to the three implants and one
prepared natural tooth. Notice that one tooth
does not have an implant or a tooth under
it. Since all five teeth are connected together
this tooth will be as solid as the teeth
attached to an implant post or a prepared
tooth. |

Natural teeth that supported
a conventional tooth supported bridge failed.
three implants were placed, then the posts
were placed several months later. |

Three Crowns which
are actually connected together were cemented
over the implant posts. The teeth are connected
to provide strength to the restoration. |

The
loss of some or all of your teeth can be
a devastating experience -- both psychologically
and from a health perspective. For many people,
wearing full or partial dentures affects
not only how they eat or speak, but also
it affects their confidence, security and
self-esteem. Whether you have lost your teeth
from lack of dental information or the inability
to afford proper care at some time in your
life, full or partial dentures have been
less than a natural replacement. |
